The stars where I live are mostly rumors. My suburban home is less than a mile from the freeway and 30 miles from a major city, so light pollution is part of life. I’d love to be in a place where I could see the sky like this.
This photo was taken near the VLT telescope, which is located on a 2600 meter-high mountain in Chile.
I figured it was as good a way as any to start this blog.

I love stars too.
I find the feeling of being so small intimidating. Sometimes when I look up into the nightsky I’m convinced that if I don’t look away quickly I’ll fall right into the pool of lights.
